Makro is searching for a Marketing Lead that is HUNGRY, HUMBLE, ENGAGED, AND SMART AND FOLLOWS THROUGH.

Main Purpose of the job: Be the Brand ambassador in-store, uphold the brand standards for customer communication standards. Ensure that all store marketing initiatives are in line with overall corporate brand strategy and standards. Implement and monitor usage of correct promotional material in-store and externally. Overall management of events (all events including CSI sponsorships and donation events etc.). Design retail recruitment and retention strategies. Ensure that process and compliance is upheld within competitions, CSI and sponsorships. Audit and report on high level department and external permanent signage. Monitoring of supplier marketing activity in store. Identify different avenues to grow Market share and foot traffic. Share customer insights from various channels and customer data to identify opportunities and gap analysis.

Key Performance areas:

Implementation of national marketing standards and Brand management
Audit and report on high level department and external permanent signage
Management, security and maintenance of POS units
Accurate and efficient implementation of themed promotions/ competitions (Easter, Birthdays etc.)
Process and compliance and CRM, customer research and analytics
Monitoring of supplier marketing activity in store and Customer recruitment
Sales Promotion and Financial Management

Candidate Requirements
Minimum Academic Requirements, Professional Qualifications, and Experience:

Have the relevant and recognized tertiary qualification (at Diploma or Degree level) Or
Minimum 2 year experience in a management role.
Functional

Makro software applications and MS Office proficiency
Sound knowledge of advanced marketing principles
Sound knowledge of retail business operations within a retail environment
Market orientation and Customer orientation
Proven experience in a high pressure environment
Knowledge of Makro policies, practices, processes and systems
Relative experience in a marketing role
Experience in retail environment would be an advantage

Required Skills
Sales : 1 to 2 years
Product Knowledge : 1 to 2 years
Pricing Skills : 1 to 2 years
This position reports to: General Sales Manager
