NGO launches application to prevent Manuel Chang extradition

An urgent court application has been filed to stop the extradition of Mozambique’s former finance minister Manuel Chang from South Africa back to his home country.
Chang is accused of being a key player in a $2-billion (R28,2-billion) loan corruption scandal.
He denies wrongdoing.
A big trial is currently underway in Mozambique.
Nineteen people are accused of benefitting from corrupt loans.
On Monday, South Africa’s Justice Department said it was ready to send Chang home.
