Longwe Twala refuses state Lawyer

It appears that Sun City prison has become a second home for the son of veteran music producer Sello “Chicco” Twala, Longwe. This after Longwe appeared briefly before the Johannesburg Central Magistrates Court yesterday on a charge of shoplifting. The matter was postponed to next month because the 35-year-old didn’t have legal representation.

He declined an offer for a free lawyer from the state and told the court that he would arrange for his own lawyer. But his father told Daily Sun today that he would not help his son with getting a lawyer.

I am not prepared to help him with anything until he changes his ways. I want him to learn the hard way and I will not help him with any legal representation,” he said. Chicco added that the only way for his controversial son to repent was if he spends time in jail for the crimes he allegedly committed.

Sunday Sun reported last week that Longwe was nabbed by a security guard when he allegedly stole shaving material at a supermarket at the Glen Mall, south of Joburg in October last year. This followed a previous report that Chicco handed his son over to the police after a case of theft was opened against him by Brian Phofedi of Diepkloof, Soweto.
