Lights out in Springs, Brakpan and Benoni
Residents in Springs, Brakpan, and Benoni have been without electricity after Eskom’s Modder East substation went up in flames.
The cause of the fire, and the extent of the damage, will be established only once the fire is extinguished.
Eskom has announced the power has been returned to some substations.
Supply restored to the following substations:
-Modder Shaft
-Benoni
-Dunswart
-Brakpan North
