Main Purpose of Job

Employee Personal Independence Monitoring
Employee Personal Independence Inspection & Testing
Client Conflict Checks
Third Party Business Relationship Checks
Employee Independence Declarations
Audit Client & Group Structure Verification
Client & Engagement Acceptance
Consultations
Employee Training & Learning, etc.
Qualifications & Experience Required
Honours Degree
7 years’ working experience within the relevant function
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Postgraduate qualification (relevant to Service Area / Business Management, etc.)
2 years at Senior Consultant level within the function
Key Performance Areas:
Strategic Impact
Interrogates, clearly understands and communicates to team the agreed strategic objectives of both own Service Area and that of the client Service Line/s
Manages the implementation of the strategic imperatives in line with service area strategy relating to:
Implementation of change initiatives within designated area/s
Management of the implementation of plan on a day-to-day basis with team
Monitoring skills level in team relating to required outputs, assisting as necessary
Clear and regular communication with superior and team on implementation status
Supports own Service Line leadership in carrying out EXCO mandate
Builds professional relationships within service line/s to understand business needs in area/s of responsibility
Generates and implements innovative ideas and solutions within area of responsibility in collaboration with team members to enhance / renew service offerings
Budgets and Forecast
Provides input into annual budget to superior for drafting of budget for Service Area
Manages expenditure within team and ensures time and expenses are submitted weekly
Monitor that completion and submission of the budget
Prepare Budget and forecast Africa Exco reports with results analysis
Prepare Budget and forecast Africa Board packs with results analysis
Differentiators for this specific role
Manage and monitor client acceptance and continuance checks efficiently and effectively and ensure quality of deliverables.
Manage and monitor local and international conflict checks efficiently and effectively and ensure quality of deliverables.
Monitoring of DESC Services adequately and assist users with the functionality of system.
Manage and monitor business relationships logged efficiently and effectively and ensure quality of deliverables.
Conduct monthly and quarterly directorships searches of contractors and firm staff and follow up on exceptions.
Developing/ Update/ Communicating BRMS policies and other related documentation and liaised with I- Intelligence in updating BRMS process flow and templates.
Performing appropriate FCT updates and assist partners/ managers as and when required.
Liaising with Global relating to FCT matters and resolve any issues timeously and effectively.
Monitor Independence e-learning; Ethics e-learning; Independence Policies; GIMS e-learning; DESC Services e-learning; Business Relationships e-learning.
Updating Independence declarations forms and uploading into CRM.
Monitor partners withdrawing/retired and follow up with outstanding declarations.
Update, monitor and review of independence declarations forms for joiners and leavers as well as updating NPW declarations
Effective and efficient planning of Annual Independence Declaration process and adequately coordinating the roll out process firm wide and deliver good quality reports
Effective planning, monitoring, roll out, execution and reporting of engagement acceptance testing process.
Effectively manage and monitor the GIMS process which includes updating the GIMS HR file, the weekly GIMS exception reports, security validation process and updating
Overall planning and execution of internal audit programs and reporting of results.
Contractor’s independence forms received from HR and processing info through the directorships search system and follow up on queries.
Effective roll-out of the GIMS service center
Planning and execution of independent inspection and testing in an effective, efficient and timely manner and deliver
Manage the IREL/DESC validation process during April and November effectively and deliver good quality work deliverables and reports.
Update SA IREL changes appropriately and accurately when required and communicate changes to Team Members/ Partners/ Managers and update Deloitte Resources
Administrating and roll-out of the annual Ethics Survey and prepare a presentation for feedback on Ethics Survey and report firm-wide.
Update and develop independent learning for staff and new direct entry partners/ directors and presentations to relevant parties
Efficiently conducting consultations and timely logging of consultations on CRM.
