Lebo M Pays Lobola for Fifth Wife as Sizwe Dhlomo’s Joke Sends Mzansi Into Meltdown

Lebo M has once again placed his love life at the centre of South Africa’s biggest online conversation after completing the lobola process for his fifth wife, Nomoya “Moya” Dube.

Pictures and videos from the traditional celebration quickly spread across social media. While supporters congratulated the couple, others focused on the Grammy-winning composer’s colourful relationship history.

Radio personality Sizwe Dhlomo then joined the conversation with a cheeky comment that sent the story even further across Mzansi’s timelines.

Morake and Dube families conclude lobola

Lebo M confirmed that members of the Morake and Dube families gathered in Mbombela, Mpumalanga, over the long weekend to conclude the lobola process.

Interestingly, the celebrated composer was in Los Angeles while the families marked the important traditional milestone in South Africa. However, he shared his excitement online and admitted that the occasion made him miss home.

According to Lebo M, the Morake family returned home with their makoti after the process ended. He also celebrated South African culture and expressed his love for Nomoya.

The family gathering adds another layer to a relationship that became public earlier in 2026. Although some social media posts described the weekend event as a new wedding, the couple had already confirmed that they were married.

Instead, the Mbombela gathering completed the lobola process and brought their families together in a culturally significant celebration.

Sizwe Dhlomo’s joke gets Mzansi talking

As congratulations poured in, Sizwe Dhlomo responded to a post about Lebo M’s latest romantic milestone.

“Uyasivula ke isibaya lobaba! Lol! Every two months or so…” he wrote.

His playful remark appeared to poke fun at how regularly Lebo M’s relationships become major entertainment news. The comment attracted reactions from users who found it hilarious, while others defended the composer’s determination to keep believing in love.

Lebo M lobola

Some people joked about the number of ceremonies attached to his name. Meanwhile, supporters argued that his previous marriages should not prevent him from celebrating a new chapter.

That combination of romance, celebrity history and humour helped push the Lebo M lobola story beyond a normal family announcement. Within hours, it became one of South Africa’s most discussed entertainment topics.

Lebo M says Nomoya is his final wife

Lebo M publicly introduced Nomoya as his fifth wife at the Nedbank International Polo event in May 2026.

During that appearance, he said they had been married since January. He also described the union as his “last, final, happy marriage.”

The two reportedly met while Lebo M was casting for an upcoming project titled Last Queen Standing. However, they initially kept much of their relationship away from public attention.

Once they stepped out together, interest in Nomoya grew rapidly. The musician and actress soon became known publicly as “Mrs Mo,” while their photographs fuelled curiosity about Lebo M’s latest chapter.

His previous public relationship was with Malefu “Mel” Ntsala, whom he proposed to in Dubai in June 2025. Their engagement reportedly ended several months later.

Before that, Lebo M separated from Pretty Samuels after a marriage that lasted just over a year. His previous wives also include Angela Ngani-Casara, Viveca Gipson and actress Nandi Ndlovu. He was once engaged to actress and singer Zoe Mthiyane.

Still, Lebo M has made it clear that he does not appreciate the intense focus on his private life. Nevertheless, every new development continues to attract enormous public interest.

The man behind The Lion King’s iconic sound

Although his relationships regularly dominate headlines, Lebo M remains one of South Africa’s most internationally recognised musical figures.

Born Lebohang Morake, the Soweto-raised composer, producer and performer became globally famous through his work on Disney’s The Lion King.

His voice opens the film with the instantly recognisable “Nants’ Ingonyama” chant. Moreover, his work helped bring African voices, languages and musical traditions to an international audience.

That global legacy explains why even his private milestones attract widespread attention. To many South Africans, Lebo M is not simply another celebrity. He represents a major part of the country’s contribution to international film and theatre.

For now, the composer appears focused on celebrating the union rather than responding to online jokes. His message from Los Angeles centred on family, culture, home and his wife.

Whether social media believes this will truly be his final marriage remains another matter. However, Lebo M and Nomoya have completed an important family process, and the composer sounds convinced that he has finally found his last queen.
