
Evictions can continue but the courts are looking at the behaviour of the landlord according to one lending provider.
Paragon Lending Solutions commented on the rights of both landlords and tenants.
Now that the country has entered into lockdown Level 1, more people are receiving eviction notices.
Gary Palmer from Paragon Lending Solutions said, “landlords have come to the party in terms of rent holidays but now, landlords are also running their own business so tenants need to start paying.”
“2.2 million jobs have been lost in the second quarter of this year so there’s sure to be some tenants that can’t pay so it’s going to be a bit of a bumpy road ahead.
“The courts are starting to allow for the eviction process to start, in terms of sending out letters of demand etc.” he said.
