Former SAPS Commissioner Kgomotso Phahlane has been granted R20,000 bail.
Phahlane and several other senior police officers appeared in court on Wednesday.
They are accused of various crimes including theft and fraud.
The appearance at the Specialised Commercial Crimes Court in Pretoria, was related to an alleged fraudulent tender valued at R54-million.
