Local actress Khanyi Mbau has poured cold water on rumours that she is expecting a child with boyfriend, Tebogo Lerole.
The internet was quick to congratulate the actress on her pregnancy after she shared a photo of herself in what looked to be a doctors office, getting an ultrasound. For every award there is a performance,” she captioned the photo.
Speaking to Channel24 Khanyi confirmed that she is not pregnant and that the Instagram photo is a scene from the movie Red Room, in which she takes on the lead role.
Khanyi recently won her first acting accolade at the inaugural South African International Film Academy Awards for her role in the film, on Saturday.
“That’s a scene from Red Room that got me the award over the weekend. No babies here,” said Khanyi. The post has since been removed from Instagram.
