Khama Billiat survives car accident

Kaizer Chiefs’ Khama Billiat was involved in a car accident last night, but escaped without any injuries.

The 28-year-old attacker put in a Man of the Match performance over the weekend as the Glamour Boys beat Chippa United 4-2 in the Nedbank Cup semifinal, with the former Mamelodi Sundowns man rounding off the game with a superb solo strike to seal their progression to the final.

However the weekend could well have ended badly for Billiat in South Africa, with soccer24.co.zw reporting that he was involved in an accident on Sunday evening where his car veered off the road.

The Zimbabwean website, which also posted the photo above, said, “Warriors and Kaizer Chiefs Star Khama Billiat escaped unhurt after the car he was travelling in veered off the road and went into the sideways gullies.

“The incident happened last evening. No official statement has been issued by the player or his club, but picture evidence shows minor damages to the car.”

At this point there has been no comment from Chiefs or the player himself, however he was posting on his social media this morning – suggesting that he is ok despite the accident.
