The vote for a new Johannesburg mayor has been postponed to 4 December 2019.
The council was expected to vote in a new mayor after Herman Mashaba officially ended his term on Wednesday.
The ANC has announced Geoff Makhubo as its mayoral candidate.
The DA and EFF have already put forward candidates.
