The City of Johannesburg is expected to elect a new speaker at an extra-ordinary council meeting on Monday. Colleen Makhubela ceased to be speaker after Cope terminated her membership. But the DA is not happy and wants the entire council dissolved.
Embattled City Manager Floyd Brink will preside over the election. He’s currently tussling with the DA in court over his own appointment. The High Court declared his appointment unlawful.
