According to Sunday Sun, Itumeleng Khune’s drink was allegedly spiked by a jealous “friend” during a night of drinking. The paper alleges that star who was supposed to receive an accolade at the 2018 Premier Soccer League Awards fell ill a day before the awards.
Speaking to Sunday Sun, Kaizer Chiefs spokesperson said that Khune was booked off by the club because he was suffering from abdominal pain.
