KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
General:
Monitor the operation of transaction / ATM systems remotely and ensure that they are functioning
Monitor the system for equipment failure or errors in performance
Operate Excel spreadsheet programs and other types of software to update and handle data and to produce reports
Retrieve and sort program output as required and send data to specified users
Monitor on a daily basis the server/Comms/UPS rooms
Monitor, test and refuel of backup building and server generators
Clear / escalate any problems at the end of the shift
System backups monitoring and backup tapes scheduling
Maintain records / reports for processes that run for audit purposes
Perform ATM software support and escalation on a national level
Monitor and escalate network links and servers
Responsible for maintaining a log file from the access control system
Maintain a variety of documentation, including operations procedures, access log file and error logs
Operate and monitor multiple critical systems concurrently
Monitor of international settlements and restarting of FTP in case of failure
Oversee of server room and entry points via live camera and environment sensor pods
Monitor of all client servers for high memory, CPU and disk utilisation
Follow security procedures relating to entering restricted areas and grant appropriate access
Will be responsible for monitoring and reporting air conditioning, water alarm, fire alarm, generators and power protection systems (UPS) in the building and computer operations area
Will be the first point of contact after hours in case of building / network emergencies
Will be required to notify the supervisor or relevant programmer/ technicians of any equipment / system malfunctions
Monitor of e-mails from different environment to ensure jobs or work is completed successfully.

Competencies:
Qualifications :
Matric
Specific Skills (Technical):
Minimum 1-2 years related experience
Computer literate
Excel proficient
Administrative experience
Knowledge of UEPS will be advantageous
Knowledge of Stratus and Help Desk advantageous
Knowledge of Point of Sale and Smartcards advantageous
The incumbent must:
Be able to work shift work for e.g. a shift could be 10pm – 7am
Be actively involved in ongoing training. This includes training on new systems, learning new or modified procedures and reading software / technical manuals
Be able to plan and schedule work priorities to meet deadlines and emergencies
Have an ability to communicate at all levels
Have an ability to resolve problems timeously
Be able to work under pressure
Have an ability to work independently and without supervision
Have excellent organisational and planning skills
Be prepared to work overtime when necessary
Be reliable, trustworthy and honest
Be proactive and flexible in ones approach to work
Be in possession of a valid South African Credit Card driver’s license free of endorsements
