Mpho Moerane: Act over JRA’s irregular expenditure

ANC Johannesburg caucus leader, Mpho Moerane says action should be taken against those responsible for irregular expenditure at the Johannesburg Road Agency.

The publication is in possession of a forensic report that reveals irregular expenditure of more than R400-million by the JRA.

The JRA board has told the publication, that the City’s forensic and investigation service has been tasked with speeding up the conclusion of all audit reports.

“I have not seen the forensic report but I can tell you that if the recommendations say the city must take corrective measures by ensuring that we recover the money from the individuals who have spent the money irregularly,” he said.

“I am still the councillor, leader of the ANC caucus and we are going to make sure that there is action taken on individuals that have spent money irregularly.”
