Eskom takes over from indebted municipality

Eskom will take over the electricity distribution of one of its biggest debtors, the Maluti-a-Phofung Local Municipality in the Free State.

It follows another oversight visit from Deputy President David Mabuza, who’s looked into the water and electricity challenges in the area.

Maluti-a-Phofung Local Municipality owes the power utility over R5-billion.
