Top 7 Idols SA contestants announced

The top 7 contestants of Idols SA were announced. The show-stopping episode aired last night, on Sunday 2 October 2022. The top 7 contestants are Kabela, Noxolo, Mpilwenhle, Thapelo, Zee, Ty Loner, and Nozi (who recently received praise from Jenifer Hudson herself, after performing the hit single Giving Myself). Unfortunately, Ceejay from KwaDukza in KwaZulu-Natal was sent home as he did receive enough votes to keep him in the singing competition.

The night was hosted by Proverbs and started with the Top 8 contestants performing a rendition of Beyonce songs which included ‘Get Me Bodied’

The Beyonce smash was spectacular and set the tone for the show-stopping night ahead. Proverbs wrote on Twitter, ‘Well done to the class of Idols SA season 18, congratulations on making the top 7, and for putting on an unforgettable Showstopper Night #IdolsSA’

The episode was also filled with guest performances from comedic genius, Mpho Popps Modikane and Robot Boii who owned the stage with an out-of-this-world performance.

The vibes of the night were immaculate to the point that the two guests developed a handshake backstage.

In terms of the contestants, they delivered! Twitter peeps are raving about the night but the two favorites seem to be Nozi and Thapelo.

Here’s what some peeps had to say about Thapelo’s performance:

It is evident, Thapelo performance was amazing as he even received praises and was compared to the born star and Venda singer, Makhadzi.

On the other hand, Nozi closed off the show with a bang as she sang a Rihanna cover. Let’s not forget how she also received a nod recently from US singer, Jenifer Hudson. Here’s what tweeps had to say about her stellar performance:

We will have to see who comes on top and walks away as the winner for Idols SA Season 18. If you want to see your favorite performer win, then make sure to vote.
