The very outspoken Hulisani Ravele recently detailed an experience she had with a contractor that she hired to work on her house renovations. The radio and media personality held nothing back when she spoke about her ordeal and shared a screenshot which reveals that the said man asked for a kiss after their meeting.
In hopes that she is able to make women aware and possibly save them from something similar happening to them, she wrote a twitter thread. Huli explained that she had worked with the man before so she did trust him to some extent. She added that she had been ‘warned’ by an ex of hers of such things happening if you allow a man to meet up with you in your personal space.
As a woman who is not afraid to speak out or share her experiences, she encouraged women to do the same.
As expected, some men defended the contractor, but Hulisani was not having it. She reprimanded those who justified the man’s act; especially seeing that the country is constantly hit by cases of femicide. She also slammed men who called jer that she is being dramatic.
In light of her experience, Hulisani has now opted to work with female carpenters going forward.
Just another day for a woman in SA…🥺💔 This happened on Friday, I thought about it so much since then; questioning if I did something wrong, when, how…I’d worked with him before on something for my place, so the trust was there. When the kiss request came I was 😞…Ja neh.. pic.twitter.com/SFauattdKz

One day we won’t need to constantly live in fear of men. One day. Just not today…

How TF is he reading wrong signs when I always refer to him as “bhut’wam”!!!? When he texts “nice speaking to you after so long” and I say nothing. HOW!? It’s exactly comments like this that make you feel like you did something wrong as a woman, that no one will believe you!! 💔 https://t.co/yiJWxwztD0
