HT Serbia 0 – 1 Brazil #WorldCup

Half-time: Serbia 0-1 Brazil Both teams have made positive starts and are playing with intent. Brazil, however, have been dealt an injury blow after Marcelo limped off and Filipe Luis has replaced him.
Neymar forces a save. Gabriel Jesus twists and turns inside the area but he is dispossessed and the ball breaks to Neymar near the byline who takes a snapshot which is palmed away by Stojkovic.
PAULINHO!!! Brazil gets a well-deserved lead and it is a huge goal. Coutinho was the creator, sending in a long ball for Paulinho to chase. He gets on to it and lifts a finish over the advancing goalkeeper. Serbia now has to score two goals at least.
Neymar fizzes a long ranger over..only just. And Brazil goes into the break a goal ahead. As things stand, Brazil and Switzerland are going through to the next round.
Brazil deserves their lead, which came courtesy of a well constructed and executed goal by Paulinho. Coutinho’s pass to him was a beauty, as was one that Neymar made to Jesus for another chance a few minutes prior to the goal. Serbia, despite holding their own for periods, have yet to show that sort of quality. They’ll likely need to do so if they are to find the two goals they need to stay at the World Cup. Mitrovic has generally been well contained by Brazil’s centreback so far. Back soon!
