The Faircape Group, a well known and respected player within the property and healthcare industries has a vacancy for an experienced HR Officer to provide a professional and efficient people management service to all subsidiaries.

The successful candidate will be based at the Claremont office with some travel to villages within the Western Cape (Tokai, Kirstenhof, Noordhoek, Somerset West, Onrus).

Specific duties include, but is not limited to::
1. TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
Develop yearly training plan based on needs analysis (from managers, employees, performance assessments)
Receive, capture and report (monthly) on internal training (including induction training)
Facilitate external training according to the training plan
Draft study agreements and ensure the provisions are met
Compile and submit WSP’s and ATR’s
2. PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
Facilitate performance appraisal process and provide support to managers on the process
Draft and facilitate a departmental development plan as per outcome of the performance appraisals
Report on all comments from employee and manager
Facilitate the bonus payment process
3. EMPLOYMENT EQUITY
Draft and facilitate employment equity plan
Employment equity training and awareness
Facilitate employment equity committee
Audit policies, procedures to be employment equity compliant
Draft EEA2, EEA4 and report annually to the department of labour before the deadline
4. DISCIPLINE AND INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS
Provide advice to line management re disciplinary issues
Draft and facilitate the issuing of warnings
Ensure the company disciplinary policy and code are followed
Chair disciplinary hearings
Handle all grievances re procedure
Union correspondence
Represent company at CCMA
Tend to all disciplinary issues
5. STAFF SATISFACTION; WELLNESS AND COMMUNICATION
Compile and facilitate satisfaction surveys every 6 months
Extract info from surveys and report on findings
Develop a department plan based on the findings and report to line management
Draft staff communications when required
Set up, plan, develop agenda and facilitate HR roadshows
6. INCREASES
Develop increase schedule with comments from managers regarding motivation for higher increases
Draft increase letters to be sent to staff
Facilitate increases with payroll
7. HR SUPPORT
Handle all general HR related queries from Line Managers and employees from Faircape
Provide HR support to all Faircape employees
8. EXIT INTERVIEWS
Conduct exit interviews with staff (telephonic or face to face)
Type exit interview and send to manager, CEO, Financial Manager
9. ADMINISTRATION AND REPORTING
Update the grading schedule every month with new staff and save on drive
Report weekly and monthly to HR manager
Archiving and filing
10. RETURN OF EARNINGS
Compile return of earnings report for all companies in group
Compile return for FEM (Construction)
Submit return of earnings to DoL and FEM before deadline
Follow up on submissions to ensure it has been received
Arrange for payments to DoL and FEM

Qualifications

Relevant qualification in Human Resources or Industrial Psychology
Experience and knowledge:
2-3 years experience as HR Officer
Proven experience in dealing with diverse group of employees
Proven experience in dealing with trade unions and CCMA representations
Solid knowledge of BCEA, LRA, and related employment acts.

Working hours are Mondays to Fridays from 08h00 until 17h00 with a 45-minute lunch break.

Benefits:
Salary on offer from R25,000.00 cost to the company. This includes a contribution to Discovery Coastal Core plan.
