Job requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must have:

Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or an equivalent qualification; and

eight to ten years’ experience within the hospitality industry with a proven track record of three to five years’ experience in people management.

The main purpose of this position is to manage the provision of catering services within the Company

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

Engage in a short- to medium-term planning and independently perform tasks in accordance with set standards and procedures.

Make suggestions for the refinement of catering policies, processes and systems, and ensure alignment with related functions.

Develop short-term work plans in line with the department’s business plans.

Manage the implementation of policies and procedures, and improve workflow and the application of processes and procedures of the Catering Section.

Optimize the section’s resource use by allocating work and managing the accountability of resources, and providing input into cost management.

Manage and ensure compliance with catering standards and legislation, including hygiene and food quality standards in the Co. to minimize the risks associated with catering services, and escalate risks identified and offer suggestions for the mitigation of risks.

Contribute towards the compilation of the budget for the Catering Section, and ensure standard procurement and expenditure practices are applied within prescribed limits.

Manage external party relationships (e.g. service providers) and ensure healthy relationships that are beneficial to the Co.

Manage internal relationships with client departments as well as cross-division/section relationships, ensuring optimal service delivery.

Monitor quality and sectional deliverables, and provide relevant reports to senior management.

Actively manage the performance and development of the team.
