Helicopter Airlifts man following electrocution

Gauteng: At 14H28 Thursday afternoon Netcare 911 responded to reports of electrocution on Lilken Street in Constantia Park Pretoria.

Reports from the scene indicate that a 57-year-old male believed to be a council employee working on an electrical box sustained serious burn wounds in what members of the public had described as an explosion.

Medics assessed the scene and found that he had sustained flash burns to most of his upper body.

He was treated on scene by an Advanced life support paramedic and once stabilized was airlifted by the Netcare 1 helicopter ambulance to the hospital for further treatment.

A second adult male also working on the electrical unit has sustained minor injuries to both his hands and once treated was transported by ambulance to the hospital for further treatment.

All necessary authorities were on the scene.
