Introduction:
Blue Cross Veterinary hospital is a successful growing veterinary hospital, comprising of small animals and large animals in Newlands, Cape Town. A QUALIFIED Maintenance HANDYMAN & DRIVER position is available at the practice.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful incumbent is required to manage the FULL handyman functions effectively.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:
Perform electrical repairs including lights and laundry.
Complete general building cleaning and maintenance.
Repair and paint doors, windows, walls, ceilings, roofs and other parts of the building.
Maintain trash and recycling receptacles around the facility.
Carry out skilled DIY & general maintenance work involved in all aspects of onsite building maintenance, both internal and external.
The role includes general building DIY and maintenance including basic carpentry, plumbing, replacement of tiling and flooring and painting.
Perform Routine Preventative maintenance to ensure that building systems operate efficiently and the physical conditions of building does not deteriorate.
Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills and wrenches
Maintain ablution facilities, removal of refuge and horse manure.
Assemble, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment.
Paint and repair roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodworks, plaster drywall and other parts of building structures.
Repair counters, benches, partitions and other wooden structures such as sheds and outbuildings.
Shop assistance and deliveries to clients with company vehicle.
Desired Experience & Qualification:
Minimum Requirements:
A minimum of four (4) years proven experience as a tiller, painter, plumber or carpenter and having construction background/knowledge / skillset will be advantageous.
Oral communication in English.
Ability to work without supervision.
Use of hand and power tools.
References
Valid Driver’s license is necessary.
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm
Every second weekend
Package & Remuneration
Salary (Cost to Company): R8000 – R10000
