Fifa World Cup - Russia 2018

Half-time: Mexico 0-0 Sweden #WorldCup

Half-time: Mexico 0-0 Sweden It’s all square at the break in an open, entertaining game which Sweden has dominated. Mexico has had the best chance, mind – with Carlos Velo coming closest to opening the scoring.

Marcus Berg

Mexico should have had a penalty, even if Phil Neville doesn’t agree. In the studio, Matthew Upson and Leon Osman both think it was a clear handball and are ripping the micky out of poor Phil.

Marcus Berg shoots into the side-netting from a tight angle from a good position, when he should have aimed the other side of Ochoa.

Mexico in control but coasting while they do so, Sweden reverting to longer searching balls towards the end of the half. Mexico are way better in possession and look like they have players capable of inflicting a killer blow – Sweden will need some sort of set piece to come off if they’re going to win this.

Vela misses his mark again, blasting an effort from inside the lip of the box over the crossbar as he tries to power around the Swedish back-four. No goals yet.
