2. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

2.1 Extensive knowledge of Amadeus (ARD) – reservations and ticketing.

2.2 Extensive knowledge of Airlink routes and fares is essential.

2.3 The minimum educational requirement is a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.

2.4 Must have good telephone etiquette and excellent customer service.

2.5 Ability to work effectively on an independent basis as well as within a team environment

2.6 Excellent communication, negotiating and reporting skills.

2.7 Excellent interpersonal skills

2.8 Must be highly organized with good admin skills

2.9 Must be able to work overtime at short notice, when required.

2.10 Must be able to work weekends on a rotational basis.

2.11 Minimum of 10 years’ airline experience with a minimum of 5 years as a Groups & FIT controller. Fares and ticketing experience essential.

2.12 Must be comfortable dealing with the general Travel Trade and able to conduct training, workshops and sales initiatives when required to do so.

2.13 Will attend Trade Shows as and when required to do so.

2.14 Will attend training as and when required to do so.

3. Accountabilities

3.1. The employee shall be accountable for ensuring operations are conducted in accordance with applicable regulations and standards of the Operator and within the confines of the AOC and relevant operational specifications

3.2. Responsible for the OHS in their area of responsibility and accountability reporting into this role.

3.3. The employee is responsible for providing the best customer service and sales oriented interaction with clients and potential clients

3.4. The employee is tasked with increasing revenue through sales generation

3.5. The employee is required to oversee all administrative functions within the department

3.6. The employee is responsible for assisting in managing the Tour product department

3.7. Accountable for the management of safety risks and security threats to aircraft operations.

4. RESPONSIBILITIES

4.1. Liaising with domestic and international Travel Agents, Tour Operators and SAA stations regarding quotations, confirmations, requests and special need requirements

4.2. Investigating availability of inventory and assessing the requirement for additional capacity

4.3. Maintaining a strong sales focus at all times.

4.4. Assist in ensuring that all Private /FIT/Specialized automated fares are pricing correctly.

4.5. Keeping revenue generation a priority whilst balancing the need for effective and efficient customer service and support.

4.6. Ensuring all admin is handled accurately and timeously

4.7. Assist with FIT contracts

4.8. Assist with all group and group series contracts

4.9. Assist with yearly updates of IT Fares and distribution to relevant FIT Holders

4.10. Assist with the computation of annual statistics across the department

4.11. Maintain spreadsheets to ensure accurate data systems

4.12. Oversee the functionality of the queueing system

4.13. Liaise closely with the Travel Trade to ascertain potential new revenue streams

4.14. Will attend trade shows when required to do so

4.15. Will conduct training, workshops and sales initiatives when required to do so

4.16. Assist with the evaluation of FIT holders’ annual statistics.

4.17. Assist in running the Tour Product department.

4.18. Manage the allocation of various job specs within the department

4.19. Maintain all Revenue Management functionality in the absence of the Revenue manager.

4.20. Responsibilities must be carried out in accordance with Company Standards as laid out in the manuals of procedure, and Occupational Health and Safety Standards

4.21. Will assist with any additional tasks within the context of the job description.
