
Deputy President Paul Mashatile says he is certain that the United Government of nationalnity (GNU) will last for the next five years. The government of national unity was formed this year after the ANC lost its majority at the 29 May polls.
Mashatile says that the GNU will last because of its strong foundation. He made the comments during an exclusive interview with SABC News on Tuesday evening.
“You know why? Because it’s not based on sentiment. So it’s not like what we like is based on principle. One of the principles was respect for the constitution and the law. Agree on a program that prioritizes serving the people. So whoever deviates from that they will live alone. The GNU will remain because of that strong foundation that we laid from the beginning. People may come and go, but I think GNU will stay
