Jacob Mamobolo: Number of travellers leaving Gauteng very high

Gauteng Transport MEC Jacob Mamobolo has expressed concern over the lack of adherence to COVID-19 safety protocols on the roads.

During a site inspection at Johannesburg Park Station, Mamabolo urged motorists to play their part in curbing the spread of the virus.

This comes as the country is battling the second wave of the coronavirus.

“One thing that is deeply concerning is that there is a huge number of people that are travelling out of the province,” Mamobolo said.

“The number looks very high.

“We had thought that perhaps with the announcements that have been made we will see lesser numbers but clearly you can see that the numbers are beyond, any dispute, very high.”
