Senior Free State officials granted bail

Three senior and two former Free State officials have been granted bail by the Bloemfontein Regional Court on Tuesday.

The officials appeared in court for alleged corruption, fraud, and money-laundering after irregularities regarding R244-million worth of payments were flagged while investigating Estina.

The suspects were granted R10,000 bail each.

They are allegedly linked to a company called Rekgonne Community Projects.

The company received millions of rands from the Free State Agriculture Department between 2012 and 2016.

The Hawks made the discovery while investigating the controversial Estina Dairy case.

The suspects will appear in court again next month.
