Job purpose; Overseeing the overall manufacturing process to ensure optimized production. Manage a staff compliment of 56; full HR function including Disciplinary procedures.
Requirements; Degree in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 yrs proven experience in a similar environment (plastic manufacturing).
Skills required; Business Acumen and commercial perceptive • Management of various resources • Ability to manage staff in a multi-cultural environment • ERP knowledge • Excellent computer skills • Negotiation skills • Strong leadership skills • Motivated, self-driven • Able to perform under pressure • Commitment to integrity and ethical behaviour • Good analytical and problem solving skills.
Responsibilities; Business partnering with General Manager for co-leadership of implementation of the business strategy and delivery of performance objectives • Manage resources effectively and increasing the gross profit percentage • Effective people management • Managing the manufacturing operations in compliance with health and safety standards • Analyse and provide solutions to manufacturing challenges or problems • Liaise with the quality assurance department to ensure product quality and specification are consistent • Conduct assessments to identify mechanical and procedural limitations that minimize work efficiency • Conduct studies and research to discover a more effective approach to production • Collaborate with marketing and sales staff to implement strategies that will improve the marketability of manufactured products.
