Europe sends a strong warning to President Emmerson Mnangagwa

The Heads of the Mission of the delegation of the European Union, France, Germany, Greece, The Netherlands, Romania, Sweden, and the United Kingdom, the Heads of Mission of Australia, Canada and the United States of America have issued a joint statement condemning the abuse of Human Rights of citizen in Zimbabwe by the government of President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

The countries said they are concerned by the crackdown on opposition members and trade unions that was witnessed prior to the banned August 16 MDC demonstrations.

On Sunday the Bulawayo Deputy Mayor Tinashe Kambarami was abducted by unknown assailants who tortured him before shaving his dreadlocks with a broken bottle.

Police in Bulawayo are appealing for information that may lead to the whereabouts of four children who went missing last month in Old Pumula and Sauerstown suburbs.

Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube said Tatenda Chirima (16) of house number A5670 Old Pumula suburb was last seen on July 5 at Bulawayo Centre where she left her blind mother who begs for money near Pick N Pay supermarket.

He said Tatenda is approximately 1,6 metres tall, slim, has brown eyes and black short hair.

Insp Ncube said the girl was last seen wearing black and white trousers, white top and black cap. read more
