Eskom will reduce load-shedding to Stage 3 starting at 8am until 10pm on Friday.
The power utility says this is due to reduced demand and improved weather conditions.
Load-shedding will, however, continue throughout the weekend to allow Eskom to replenish its emergency generation reserves.
Eskom maintains that the system remains unreliable and vulnerable.
The country was hit by Stage 4 load-shedding this week due to cold, rainy weather and broken generator units.
