Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan says Eskom plans to avoid load-shedding during winter. He says at most stage 1 load-shedding will be put in place.
Gordhan was giving the nation an update on the state of electricity supply at Eskom.
South Africa is now in its second consecutive week without load-shedding after experiencing Stage 4 load-shedding in March.
However, the power utility had warned power cuts could be experienced for years to come.
