The Eskom board has appointed advocate Ishmael Semenya to chair the inquiry into CEO, André de Ruyter. Suspended chief procurement officer, Solly Tshitangano has accused De Ruyter of racism and abuse of power.
He claims the CEO removed suppliers owned by black South Africans, without following proper procedures, while affording extra leniency to white-owned suppliers.
The Eskom board says it’s committed to transparency and so will provide updates at critical stages of the inquiry.
