EFF under fire for banning some media titles from its conference

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) is coming under fire for banning certain media titles from its second National People’s Assembly.

The South African National Editors’ Forum (Sanef) is calling on the EFF to ungag media banned from its elective conference, but the party is sticking to its guns.

“No journalists that have been stopped from covering the conference, what we are doing is stopping people who have a political interest… who have expressed their political interest,” said EFF’s Dali Mpofu. Sanef believes the EFF is violating the constitution. EFF’s second National Peoples Assembly starts today in Nasrec, Johannesburg.
