At 17H03 Wednesday afternoon Netcare 911 attended a vehicle fire on Meridian Drive in Umhlanga Ridge, Durban.
Reports from the scene indicate that the driver of the light motor vehicle while in transit was flagged down by passing motorists informing the adult male driver that the undercarriage of his car was on fire.
The man parked his car on the side of the road and safely managed to get out.
