Drama as woman str!ps n@ked to restrain son from bashing his wife. Gogo Violet Zambuko told Mutare magistrate, Xavier Chipato, that her son, Charles Chidewu attacks anyone who dares to intervene whenever he has issues with his wife (name not disclosed). An elderly Marange woman stripped in front of his son in a bid to stop him from bashing his wife.
Gogo Zambuko was applying for a peace order against Chidewu. Chipato granted the peace order in Gogo Zambuko’s favour. Chipato also advised Chidewu to move out of the family house and find alternative accommodation for his family.
Gogo Zambuko said she regretted offering her son residence at her homestead as he has violent and has become a thorn in her flesh. She also accused Chidewu of attempting to burn down her house during a fate of rage. Said Gogo Zambuko:
After having a misunderstanding with his wife, he closed all the doors and windows and opened the valve of a gas cylinder. I stopped him as he was about to light up a matchstick.
In his defence, Chidewu said he had no intentions of burning the house but was trying to stop her mother from stripping in his presence. He said: I was having a misunderstanding with my wife and my mother came into our bedroom and stripped n@ked in our presence.
I opened the gas valve and threatened her with death in a bid to stop her from stripping for us. I don’t understand how taking off her clothes was supposed to bring peace to our house.
