People who are avid followers of South Africa’s most loved media personality, Bonang Matheba, would tell you of the important role Tebogo ‘Pinky Girl’ Mekgwe plays in her life as many have seen her on Being Bonang and Instagram.
Although there had been tinges of an aspiration to work as an actress, we can’t exactly position Pinky Girl in the entertainment industry. However, her name alone carries clout and she remains the most famous Pinky Girl in the land.
Therefore, when DJ Zinhle revealed during a casual Q & A session on her live Instagram video that she has a new helper and her name is Pinky, many fans jumped into conclusions.
The video formed part of the commentary on popular YouTuber, Owamie Hlongwane’s channel. Upon watching the video, Zinhle is heard saying the following in regards to her helper’s name:
“I am not really a fan of Pinky Girl but she is… Pinky Girl, and when I heard that there was a Pinky at my house, I just thought, Wow okay, That’s it, it’s not really a big deal man.”
DJ Zinhle continued to add, “I am not throwing shade at all, it so happened that there is a lady in my house who has the same name as someone that is… (is she in the industry? Zinhle mumbles as she wonders about Pinky Girl’s role in the entertainment industry.) …But I do not have a problem with her, she’s cute.’
There are quite a lot of questions regarding the content of the video but we can’t help but wonder whether DJ Zinhle was truly sharing innocuous and coincidental developments of her home or simply being shady.
