Pharmacy group Dis-Chem has seen a boost in sales as consumers opt for healthier and preventative healthcare products. It saw revenue growth of 12.1 percent to R11.6-billion in the past six months. But it’s not just good news for the pharmacy group.
As foot traffic in busier shopping centres remains depressed due to COVID-19, Dis-chem says the change in consumer shopping behaviour continues to impact its sales mix and in turn, its margins. It reports that despite the strong top-line growth, margins are still lagging pre-COVID-19 levels.
