12,979 new infections have been recorded in the last 24 hours. A further 126 people have died taking the death toll to over 91,000.
KwaZulu-Natal continues to lead with 3,461 cases. It’s followed by the Western Cape with 3,327 new infections.
Gauteng recorded over 2,000 cases, while the Eastern Cape has over 1,500. The rest of the provinces have under a thousand cases.
The positivity rate is slightly up and stands at 28.1 percent.
