Date announced for Prokid's #DankieSanConcert

ProKid, real name, Linda Mkhize, died on Wednesday, 8 August, after suffering a “severe seizure”. A post-mortem revealed that the 37-year-old rapper died due to a rare cause of bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract.

Mzansi’s biggest names in the entertainment industry are teaming up to bring a concert that will not only serve as a fitting tribute to ProKid, but the proceeds from the sale of tickets to the event will be for the benefit of the well-being and education of his three-year-old daughter, Nonkanyezi.

The Dankie San Tribute Concert will take on 26 August, at the Zone 6 venue in Diepkloof, Soweto. The date was announced in a tweet with the mesagge: I greet you in the name of #DankieSanConcert Tsogang ba gagešo & let’s mission to Computicket later today to add to a little girl’s future from as little as R 100. The stellar artist line-up includes AKA, HHP, Kwesta, Nadia Nakai, Jub Jub, Kid-X, Ma-E, Cassper Nyovest, K.O., Gigi LaMayne, Reason, Skwatta Kamp, Da Les, Stogie-T, Amunishn, L-Tido, Rouge, JR, Blaklez, Red Button, Yanga, Zubz, Ntukza, P Dot O, Nveigh, Nothende, Max-Hoba and F-Eezy.

The DJ line-up will include Citi Lyts, DJ Fresh, DJ Mr X, Major League DJs, Vigilante, Ms Cosmo, P-Kuttah, DJ Dimplez, DJ Capital, DJ Switch, P Kuttah, C-live, DJ 1D, DJ Milkshake, DJ ZanD , DJ Rizz and DJ Zai Maya.

Hosting the star-studded gig will be Moozlie, Lee Kasumba, Lootlove and Sandile GQ.
