Eskom has announced that newly appointed CEO, Dan Marokane, will assume duty from 1 March.
Marokane will become the embattled power utility’s eleventh person in a decade to be appointed to the top job.
Eskom has been without a permanent CEO since February last year when Andre de Ruyter left with immediate effect.
Marokane earlier served the parastatal institution as an executive from January 2010 to June 2015.
Eskom spokesperson, Daphne Mokoena: “On behalf of the Eskom board, the board chairman, Mr Mteto Nyati, says he officially welcomes Dan to the organization and that the Eskom employees were excited to hear that Dan will rejoin the company as they remember his hands-on leadership style that is needed right now.”
