Gauteng: Sunday afternoon Netcare 911 responded to reports of a shooting at the Cradlestone mall in Krugersdorp.
It was believed a jewellery store situated in the mall had been robbed.
Reports from the scene indicate that an adult male security officer had sustained a gunshot wound to his right upper torso.
The patient a 40-year-old male had sustained critical injuries and was treated on scene by a Netcare 911 Emergency Care Practitioner.
Due to the nature of his injuries, a Netcare 911 Helicopter ambulance was activated to airlift the man to a specialist facility.

In Other News – Two killed and several injured following accident near Newcastle
Two people have died and several others have been injured following an accident involving two vehicles along the N11 outside Newcastle.
Paramedics said both of the cars were alight following the incident.
KwaZulu-Natal emergency department’s Robert Mckenzie said: “Paramedics treated two seriously injured patients at the scene. The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are not known. It will be investigated by the police.” continue reading
