The daily COVID-19 positivity rate is down to just under 20 percent.
But the death toll remains high and day-on-day infections are on the rise again.
In the last 24 hours, 555 people have died and just under 9,000 more have tested positive.
Infections in the hotspots — Gauteng and the Western Cape — have increased by just 2,200 in each province.
KwaZulu-Natal has reported 1,700 more cases.
