
President Cyril Ramaphosa has called for consolidated reports from his Cabinet as the country experiences rapidly rising coronavirus cases. An urgent cabinet meeting will be held on Sunday to discuss the measures implemented to deal with the pandemic.
The number of confirmed cases in South Africa has now risen to 38. This is an increase of 14 from Friday including the youngest patient being a 14-year-old who travelled to Dubai and the US.
Seven of the new cases are in Gauteng, 6 in the Western Cape, and one in KwaZulu-Natal. All patients have returned from travelling outside the country. Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize says he’s concerned about the increasing number of infections.
