A diplomatic row is brewing between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda. Congolese authorities have suspended RwandAir flights between the two countries. They say it’s a precautionary measure against Kigali’s support for the M23 rebellion in the eastern part of the DRC.
The Rwandan ambassador has also been summoned. The accusations are apparently based on military equipment found and images from soldiers. Rwanda has denied the allegations.
Clashes have recently broken out again between the Congolese army and the militia. M23 is one of several armed groups there.
