English Premier League

Chelsea 1 – 2 Liverpool

Leaders Liverpool made it six wins from six in the Premier League as they edged Chelsea 2-1 at Stamford Bridge.

The visitors took the lead early in the first half when Trent Alexander-Arnold curled home a brilliant strike.

Cesar Azpilicueta thought he had levelled only for VAR to rule it out for offside and soon after Roberto Firmino headed home for Liverpool.

N’Golo Kante’s brilliant individual goal gave Chelsea hope but Liverpool held out to take the three points.

The Blues could consider themselves a little unfortunate not to get something from the game after a battling second-half display.

Liverpool, meanwhile, were not at their attacking best with both their goals coming from set-pieces, but victory maintains their five-point cushion at the top of the table.
