Capitec says double withdrawals on accounts on Friday is a glitch on Nedbank’s systems.
Some of its clients woke up to SMS notifications showing double deductions were made for retail purchases.
In an update sent earlier, the bank says the glitch affected billing on Nedbank’s point of sale terminals.
Capitec says cardholders will be reimbursed within 24 hours.
The bank says it takes the error very seriously and is working with Nedbank to rectify the glitch as quickly as possible.
