Metrorail train on fire in Cape Town

A Metrorail train near Century City, Cape Town is on fire. Fire and rescue personnel are on the scene. A motorcoach and six carriages have reportedly been damaged.

No injuries have been reported so far.

The City of Cape Town’s Angus McKenzie says the cause of the fire is unknown.

“The situation is very fresh, we don’t know the cause of the fire or if there are any injuries.”

Cape Town has been plagued by arson attacks in recent months.

But authorities are still unclear whether foul play was involved on Saturday.
