South African dance extraordinaire Zodwa Wabantu gained fame after showcasing her unique dance skills at Durban’s popular eatery, Eyadini. However, there was another aspect of her life that was of interest to the masses – Her love life. Zodwa was in a long term relationship with the much younger, Ntobeko Linda. Whilst they cherished the reality of their relationship, outsiders usually ridiculed them, especially in regards to Ntobeko’s young age.
For the longest time, Zodwa never lost sleep over the negative criticism about her love life, which then indicated that these two might actually work out. A few months ago, Zodwa got down on one knee and proposed marriage to Ntobeko(of which he said yes).
The heartwarming proposal was conducted at Eyadini. A couple of weeks after the proposal, Zodwa announced that the wedding was off; citing ”nerves” and Ntobeko’s age as the catalysts behind the breakup. Well, if the latest reports are anything to go by, the romance between these two has gone out the window.
According to ilanga Langesonto, the future does not look too bright for Zodwa and Ntobeko. The television reality star confirmed to the publication that indeed they have taken a break from each other.
“We have taken a break from the relationship. I had anxiety over this relationship, so we decided to take a break. For now, I’m enjoying my life, maybe in the future, we might get back together”.
Zodwa also mentioned that they both agreed to test waters with other people… Speaking of other people, it was stated in the article that, Zodwa was seen in the arms of another younger man- Vusi Buthelezi at the Durban July recently. The two are alleged to be in a new relationship, however, Zodwa explained that they are merely working together.
Upon contact with Ntobeko Linda, he rebuffed the rumors that they have broken up, however, he did admit that they have not seen each other in a while but still remain in contact. I’m currently busy with my own things. I don’t have time to be in a relationship. If she (Zodwa) has moved on with her life, then I have no problem with that.
The publication also established contact with Vusi, who reiterated Zodwa’s words – that they are only working together. Vusi is currently studying at the University of Technology (DUT).
It is really unfortunate that Zodwa and Ntiobeko are calling it quits. They made such a cute couple.
