Busisiwe Mkhwebane wants Mapaila to apologise

Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane has told the SACP’s Solly Mapaila to apologise or face the court.

Mapaila has accused Mkhwebane of being used by rogue elements in the fight-back campaign against the President. Adding to the Public Protector’s woes is ANC National Chairperson Gwede Mantashe.

Mantashe is accusing Mkhwebane of entering the political space by targeting President Cyril Ramaphosa.

The Public Protector says she is currently writing to Mapaila asking him to produce evidence to back up his allegations. She says he has five days to either do so, or he must retract his claims and apologise, failing that, he will face legal action.
